The removable battery is ideal for those who charge indoors or want to extend range. If you need a lightweight frame for agility and a front suspension for comfort, this model fits your daily commute or weekend recreational rides.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you need full suspension for aggressive mountain biking. This model only includes a front fork, which limits control on very rough descents. Additionally, if you prefer a different wheel size or specific color options beyond grey, this listing may not meet your preferences.
Verdict: The ACTBEST Race offers strong power and decent range for a versatile entry-level e-bike. It is a practical choice for commuters and casual trail riders who value speed and versatility.
ACTBEST Race Key Specs Explained
Motor Power: 1200W peak
This motor delivers a peak output of 1200W, allowing the bike to reach speeds up to 28 mph. This power level helps you accelerate quickly on flats and tackle moderate hills with ease. It suits riders who want brisk commutes or faster trail riding. Compare this to standard 500W or 750W motors, which typically cap out at lower speeds and offer less hill-climbing torque.
Battery: 48V 10.4 Ah
The removable lithium-ion battery holds 48 volts and 10.4 amp-hours of energy. This configuration supports a range of 40 to 55 miles on a single charge, depending on your riding style and terrain. You can remove it for convenient indoor charging. This capacity is suitable for daily commuting or longer recreational rides without frequent recharging stops.
Top Speed: 28 mph
The bike is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 28 mph under electric assistance. This speed allows you to keep pace with traffic on bike lanes or cover longer distances quickly. It exceeds the 20 mph limit common in Class 1 and 2 e-bikes. Check your local laws, as higher speeds may require specific class classifications or licensing.
Suspension: Front fork
The bike features a front fork suspension system to absorb bumps and vibrations from the road or trail. This setup improves comfort and control by keeping the front wheel in contact with uneven surfaces. It is ideal for mixed terrain like city streets with potholes or light off-road paths. Note that it lacks rear suspension, so it is best for smoother trails.
Wheel Size: 27.5"
The wheels measure 27.5 inches in diameter, offering a balance between agility and rolling efficiency. This size is common in modern mountain bikes, providing good traction and stability. It allows for quick maneuvering in urban environments while maintaining speed on open roads. This is a versatile choice for riders who want a responsive ride without the bulk of larger 29-inch wheels.
Design and Build Details
The listing describes this bike as a lightweight frame designed for agility. It combines strength with a feather-light build to help you navigate urban landscapes or conquer trails with ease. The available color is grey, and the size is listed as Large. According to the listing, this specific size and color combination targets adult riders seeking a balanced ride. The style options include a version with a 1200W motor and 27.5-inch tires, or a variant that adds a mirror. This choice lets you pick the configuration that matches your local traffic laws or personal preference.
The layout centers on a 27.5-inch wheel size, which offers a mix of speed and maneuverability. This wheel dimension is common for mountain and commuting hybrids, providing stability on varied terrain. The front fork suspension is a key design element. It absorbs bumps and vibrations, ensuring a smooth journey over rougher surfaces like gravel paths or uneven pavement. This suspension setup supports the bike’s dual identity as both a commuter and a mountain bike.
The 21-speed Shimano gear system allows you to adjust your riding experience. You can switch between gears and electric assistance modes to match your speed and terrain. This customizable control means you are not locked into a single riding style. Whether you are climbing a hill or cruising on a flat road, the mechanical and electric systems work together to provide a responsive ride. The design prioritizes practical functionality over aesthetic complexity.
